The Lab?

Well here is my lab.. where the stuff gets built not where the software get written, and not where the cockpit is. You can see I'm messing about with my new MPCD (it's the prototype from the F/A-18CD) I will have to build a new bezel for it but its just for giggles right now.

Over to the left is a VME chassis, which is my test bed for the flight control computer. It is hooked to my cockpit in the other room via ethernet (that orange cable). The Flight Computer sends a UDP packet to all other computers on the network, ie: both FADEC or, Fully Automated Digital Electronic Control Computers (one per engine), Cockpit Displays, etc.

Right now I am using 100 Hz frames, in REAL TIME, by the use of UNIX signals. No this will never run on your Windows Box. The front end is a Windows XP 2Ghz, with a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro (USB) But when I get the bugs out I will switch to my F-15E Talon Stick, and the SFS Dual Throttle, with Thrustmaster Pedals.

By the way, the pc is where I write my software, and then FTP it up to one of my 64bit, Utra SPARC servers. These severs are the same servers I host Internet web sites.

Here are some of the gauges that I own.. I guess I have been buying this stuff for over 20 years..
